38 years of Cowboy history is taken down in just a few minutes. Texas Stadium was demolished by an 11-year old today. Built with the famous hole in the roof, so ‘God could watch his team.’ Let’s see if the new stadium will bring good Fortune to Dallas.

Sunday, April 11th, 2010McNabb to the ‘Skins
Sunday, April 4th, 2010
Philly has finally moved Donovan McNabb and he is heading south to the nation’s capitol. This move for McNabb was a long time coming since Philly has wanted him out a long time ago. I don’t think this improves the Eagles, giving the keys to Kolb. Interesting inter-division move, but I suppose the Eagles are not scared to face McNabb twice. I still put the Giants and Cowboys as the favorites for the NFC East.
This move affects the fantasy value of a lot of players. For the Eagles I would drop the value of Jackson and Maclin some, bump up Celek and McCoy. Kolb will be a good sleeper in deeper leagues.
For the Redskins, I would decrease McNabbs value some unless the ‘Skins tend to the offensive line. I think Cooley is great value coming off of injury with a veteran QB. Santana moss is getting old and can’t create much separation so he is still a solid back up WR, I would rank Devin Thomas ahead of Santana. None of the Skins RB trio (Portis/Parker/LJ) are major pass catching backs, but if healthy Portis could see an increased load on passing downs.
Saints Win!!
Sunday, February 7th, 2010Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints capitalize on their first trip to the Super Bowl and bring a championship back to a city that couldn’t have deserved it more. Congrats to the Saints and New Orleans.

Verbal Commitment
Friday, February 5th, 2010Some say Lane Kiffin and USC had the best recruiting class this year. To me I think Carroll did most of the recruiting and Kiffin just capitalized on the name plus brought his own recruits from Tennessee. But has Lane Kiffin gone to far? ESPN is reporting that USC has received a verbal commitment from 13 year old QB David Sills from Delaware. Granted at 13 the kid is already 6 foot and a man amongst boys, but are we beginning to push the future of our children to much? Who’s to say he even wants to play football in 5 years or can compete in HS? There is a long road ahead and it seems we here more stories of burnouts then successes in these scenarios. Check out the highlights below. ~Holler
Why You Retire After 40
Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010UPDATE: 2/4/10 9:10 am - It seems that Rick Cleveland of the Clarion Ledger has recently pulled down his post of the below photos of ‘Brett Favre’ after the NFC Championship game. It makes one wonder, was this a small play at rebuilding the love for Brett Favre and how much of a warrior he is or just an attempt to increase traffic. Interesting pick up by Tim K.
Original Post: 2/3/10 In a recent blog post by Rick Cleveland in the Clarion Ledger, he shows us apparent photos of Brett Favre’s ankle and hamstring after the OT loss to the Saints in the NFC championship game. It seems that the injuries looked this bad at halftime, but Brett continued to play on. I wonder if this is why he threw 2 INTs in the second half, because he was hurt. Shades of the Gang Green down the stretch last season with an unknown torn bicep? This is why most players retire at 40 since most d-ends and linebackers want to do this to QBs. In other blog posting siting these pictures, its as if no other player has ever played with an injury –
AFC Championship: Jets @ Colts
Friday, January 22nd, 2010And they are back, again. Two weeks in a row and the damn Jets won’t go away. Living in the NY area is disheartening to listen to the Jets actually grow with optimism, this coming from a fan base who gave up 2 months ago (including their coach). Some how though there are always teams like this that seem to pull through for a stretch in the playoffs. Strong defense, minimal offensive mistakes and a few breaks here and there (5 missed FGs for opposing teams in 2 weeks). That being said, I am still not ready to jump on this bandwagon.
The Colts exercised their 1st Round bye demons by taking care of the Ravens handedly. In the last two weeks we have seen two different attempts at the Jets defense, both failing (Bengals rushing attack, Chargers passing attack), but Peyton Manning and the Colts are a much bigger beast. There is not a better QB to handle the various schemes of the Jets defense, and in their week 16 match up, the Colts just missed about 3-4 big plays to blow the game out early in the 2nd half before being pulled.
Everyone can jump on the bandwagon, but I will sit idly bye because the ride ends this week. Jet fans can talk about how they stayed with the Colts for 2 1/2 quarters in week 16, but that’s not enough, just ask the 7 other teams that lost in the 4th too the Colts. Take the Colts and the points.
Oh and how can you bet on a team that is already selling this…
Warner Retirement?
Wednesday, January 20th, 2010A potentially big offseason decision comes when Cardinal QB decides whether or not he should retire after his multiple head injuries. I think this final hit against the Saints last weekend should seal his fate.
AFC Divisional Round – Jets @ Chargers
Friday, January 15th, 2010
In the last game of the week, the New York Jets take their power running game on the road to San Diego. Run vs Pass teams to battle it out for a chance in the AFC Championship game. This may be a tight match early but San Diego is just too good to be stopped by the Jets. Many feel the Jets defense will be the key to their success but they played an uninspired Bengals team with a QB who has been very shaky all year.
People believe if Revis shuts down V-Jax (like he has every other week), the Chargers will have no chance to move the ball. I think people fail to see a 6’4 All Pro TE and 6’5 up and coming WR2 that will be running all over the middle of the field. Rivers is smart enough now to make the correct throws and the duo of LDT and Sproles can still run well on the ground. If the Jets bring their overload blitz, they run the risk of giving Sproles room to run freely on screens which we all know he can take to the house. If the Jets fall behind early, their plan to run the ball falls out of favor and forces them to rely on rookie Sanchez who didn’t have to make a big throw last week. Although lacking, the Chargers defense will bring enough to keep Sanchez guessing and control this game early.
This season is primed to set up another rematch between the Chargers and Colts in the AFC Championship game, determining the winner of this years Superbowl. Take the Chargers to cover -8
NFC Divisional Round – Cowboys @ Vikings
Friday, January 15th, 2010
Continuing the round of the pass, we take the hottest team in football and send them to the Metrodome. Looking into this week’s match up, home field advantage is taken away as the Cowboys have already gone into the Superdome and won this season, deflating the Saints run at a perfect season.
Many see Favre running this game as he is destined to win a Superbowl in his “last” season. I don’t buy it. Yes, the Vikings won convincingly in their last week of the season, but this was against a Giant team missing half of its defense and no shot of making the playoffs. Favre picked apart an uninspired, 2nd string defense. The only benefit for the Vikings is the 2 weeks off that Favre needed to rest his body. But it won’t be enough to take the beating from the Cowboys defense.
The talent of the Cowboys defense is finally playing to full potential and on the turf in the Metrodome, they will only be faster. The key to attacking the Vikings is pressure. The secondary is fast enough to keep pace with Harvin, Rice and Berrian. Ware will reek havoc on the outside and Favre will be hit hard. Unless Peterson can break off a few big runs early, the Vikings offense will look dismal.
The Cowboys will need to control the clock. The Viking defense is no slouch but keep them on the field for 3/4 of the game and they will be exhausted. Look at how Jonathan Stewart picked them apart in week 15 and you will see what the tandem of Barber and Jones will do. I’d take the Cowboys on the money line.
AFC Divisional Round – Ravens @ Colts
Friday, January 15th, 2010
After a major beat down of the once powerhouse Pats, the Ravens take their powerful run game to Indy to take on the “Undefeated Colts.” I say it like this because their starters are undefeated, the decision by Polian and Caldwell wasn’t smart but Peyton has remained unbeaten in a full game this season. (Your Welcome NYJ Fans). You better believe at this point that the Colts are more rested then rusty. They have been in this sport before, Peyton runs the team and they know how to prepare for the playoffs. Many will say the Colts have no fared well with rest heading into the playoffs, but the starters did play a good portion of the final two games.
The Ravens dominated an uninspired Patriots team last week and looked like world beaters. Be weary as this is not the same team as last week. The Ravens found a niche in the Pats schemes and took advantage. The Colts will be better prepared and will truly force Joe Flacco to throw more than 4 times. With Flacco attempting to go pass for pass with Peyton, I don’t see the Ravens holding on deep into the 4th quarter.
Home field, potent pass attack, best QB ever vs a relatively young QB and a strong, yet aging defense. Nothing against Ray Lewis and co, but I don’t think they will have enough to shut down Peyton. Take the Colts to cover.
